Winter Lessons
Catamount Lessons:
Catamount Outdoor Family Center offers lessons for xc skiing and winter biking. We also offer guided snowshoe tours. Advanced reservations are required for all lessons and tours. All lesson packages include complementary rental equipment and a day membership. Please note that price does not change if you have your own equipment or membership.
RESERVATION POLICY: All lessons require 48 hour advance reservation. Catamount cannot guarantee any day of lessons reservation.
CANCELLATION POLICY: We require a 24 hour notice to cancel your lesson reservation. Please email us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule so that we can open the lesson time to someone else. Any cancellations within 24hours will be charged full price to accommodate instructors time. Thank You!
Lesson & Tour Fees:
Private Lessons: $75/ hour
Semi-Private Lessons: $60/hour per person
Group Lessons: $50/person (2 hours)
Snowshoe Tours: $100/hour
TRY Package: $125

INSTRUCTOR: Bill Regan
Bill Regan has been cross country skiing for over 30 years. He is certified as a Nordic instructor by the Professional Ski Instructors of America. He loves all manner of winter sports, including snowshoeing, winter hiking, ice skating, downhill skiing, and backcountry skiing. He is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School, and is certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. In the warmer months, Bill teaches cycling, kayaking, and low-impact hiking and camping. He also works with Vermont-based environmental and social justice non-profits while volunteering in his community.
INSTRUCTOR: Celia Cote
Celia has been cross country ski racing for about 6 years, beginning on the CVU high school team, and now races for the UVM Club Nordic Ski team. She is certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. In the summers, Celia teaches mountain biking for youth through Catamount’s summer camps and Little Bellas. In addition to cross country skiing, Celia loves to backcountry ski, hike, mountain bike, and road bike.


INSTRUCTOR: Justin Bennett
Justin has been skiing close to 20 years, downhill as well as cross country. He also enjoys road biking, mountain biking, hiking, basically any type of excuse to be outdoors. Justin has been a downhill instructor for about 5 years, and is looking forward to sharing the outdoors with others!
INSTRUCTOR: Jason Bull
Jason has worked in the outdoor industry as a snowboard instructor, whitewater river guide, snowmobile guide, and backpacking guide. As a relative newcomer to Vermont, he recently joined COFC as a mountain bike coach with our summer programs. He is looking forward to spending winter days with the Catamount community on snowshoes, fat bikes, and cross country skis.
INSTRUCTOR: Ruth Spooner
Ruth has been nordic skiing for fun for most of her life and is part of the UVM nordic club. She is an overall outdoor enthusiast with a love for exploring the woods on any means, be it ski, bike, or snowshoes. In the summers Ruth works as a mountain bike coach catamount, and enjoys helping everyone get outside and have fun!
