VOLUNTEER
The Catamount Outdoor Family Center manages the recreational opportunities throughout the Catamount Community Forest.
Beyond the daily operations that you see front and center when you visit, we are responsible for maintaining over 25 miles of trails including both single track and double track. As you can imagine, it’s a lot of work!
We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lend a hand with trail work. In the springtime, we are busy clearing debris from trails and leaf blowing the leaf litter that protected the trail tread over the winter. Throughout the summer operating season there are always projects ranging from rock removal on double track to improve our ability to groom for skiing, and repairing the existing trail tread on single track trails for safety and improved drainage.
In addition to trail work, volunteers are needed to help with races and events! On Tuesday & Wednesday evenings in the summer and fall Catamount hosts weekly race series that need volunteers to assist with calling and recording bib numbers. We also host a variety of events, camps, and programs all year long that need community support. Keep an eye on our event calendar and reach out if you want to be a part of an upcoming event!
