MOUNTAIN BIKE AND TRAIL RUNNING WEEKLY RACE SERIES

2025 Weekly Mountain Bike & Trail Running Race Series

Join us this year and be part of the longest-running Weekly Race Series in the country! The weekly races at Catamount OFC have a rich history and provide a fun, relaxed atmosphere for everyone. Whether you’re new to racing or a seasoned pro, you won’t want to miss the excitement at Catamount!

Our mission is to promote family and community wellbeing through activity and education in the Catamount Community Forest which is why our race series is participation-based. At the end of the season, we award sponsor prizes based to the folks with the highest participation counts of the summer. While winning is exciting, we focus on personal bests and meaningful connections!

As in previous years, we’ll be hosting our Tuesday evening Trail Running Series and Wednesday evening MTB Series from mid-May through early September. The weekly in-person races will kick off at 6:00 PM sharp.

Check out the Race Series FAQs and Race Course Descriptions below for all the details. We can’t wait to see you there!

2025 In-Person, Virtual, and Choice Series Options: We have decided to remove the fully virtual race series option for 2025 due to low participation. Understanding that the choice format provides more flexibility for our community, we are now offering a fully “Choice” format for our Trail Running Race Series. This means you’re welcome to race with us in person every week. However, if you can’t make it or if the weather isn’t ideal on race night, you can still participate by racing on another day during the week and submitting your results online.

We hope this new format works better for everyone and allows for even more opportunities to race!

May 14th Update: Our Mountain Bike Series will return to in-person only for 2025 as we have insurance limitations that prevent us from offering virtual racing options. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Everyone who has registered for the full race series will be given a racer packet and assigned a race number for the whole series. These are typically ready for pick up the second week of May.

For all single night race entries, please stop by the Hub to get your number each race night before 5:45pm. If you arrive after 5:45pm, your number will ether be waiting at the Hub for you or with our Race Director at the start line. You will be issued a new number each week if you do multiple single night entires.

If you want to avoid potential lines on race night, you can stop at the Hub at Catamount, during business hours, to pick it up ahead of time.

What do I do if I lose my race number or forget it on race night?2025-02-28T08:43:26-05:00

Come to the Hub and/or email members@catamountoutdoor.org to let us know.  We will give you new or temporary number to wear and update our timing system.  It is critical you use the correct race number for the timing system and race results.

People will not be allowed to race without a number as this negatively impacts our timing and results.

Will you post race results?2025-02-28T08:37:58-05:00

Yes, we will post race results each week.  We are using a timing system called Webscorer, and in person results will be posted to the Catamount page at Webscorer.com.  Virtual and in person will have separate race results on the Catamount Race Series page.

What do I do if I spot an error in my race results?2025-02-28T08:53:44-05:00

Please contact members@catamountoutdoor.org with any result correction requests. Please note that we will only change your results. If you notice an issue with another persons results, they must reach out to us directly.

How will you let me know if you cancel a race due to weather?2025-02-28T08:57:36-05:00

COFC uses the Weather Underground Hourly Forecast to make weather-related decisions. If the forecast is showing a 60% chance (or higher) for thunderstorms between 5:30-7:30pm, we will cancel the race for that evening. We will make cancellation decisions between 4pm and 5pm the day of the race, and will announce it on our Facebook page and instagram story.

Should thunder occur while you are waiting for the race to start or while the race is underway, we kindly ask that you return to to your vehicle for everyone’s safety.

How does the Virtual Race format work?2025-02-28T08:57:49-05:00

When racing on a non-race night, you can choose the timing app that works best for you! Some of the more popular ones include: Strava, RunKeeper, Endomondo, GoogleFit and MapMyFitness.

  • You can find the Virtual Submission link  on our race series page.
  • Each week we will announce the course late Sunday afternoon
  • Virtual results must be entered by 12pm on Friday
  • We will post results!
What race series options are available?2025-02-28T08:39:10-05:00

Adult, Youth/Student, and Family race series options are available for 2025. This means you can race in person with us every week. If you can’t make it or we have to cancel the in-person race, you have the option to make up the race on your own another day that week and submit your results virtually to us. Racing both virtual and in-person in one week with NOT double your participation points.
