Winter Fun at Catamount!
January 20th
With continued flurries, Andy groomed sections of Goose Hill, the Wedding Field and lower/upper Night loops today. Ski conditions are better than expected for the amount of snow we have. Fat bike and snowshoe trails are seeing lots of traffic and are in good shape too.
Look for great fat biking with studded tires, fun snowshoeing with crampons and cautiously good skiing, especially with metal edges and intermediate-advanced skills. Sledding is still quite challenging, as the sledding hill has a mix of new soft snow and older firm layers.
Hidden and visible hazards exist on many trails, primarily thin cover and icy areas.
Snowshoes, fat bikes or skis are required for travel on the trails, except for the sledding hill accessed via the road next to the big house.
Pedestrians and narrow tire cyclists are welcome to use Governor Chittenden Road.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us care for the trails.
Remember to member up! Membership comes with many benefits, including early camp access. We’ve updated camp schedules and offerings for 2026, with increased spaces for our youngest campers and a new advanced bike camp option.
While pedestrian/snowshoe access is complementary, trail maintenance, grooming and organizational support are expensive.
Please support our nonprofit’s year round stewardship.
Governor Chittenden Road is almost always a great option for walking, running and riding too. See Trail Conditions.
Please check Guest Service & Rental Hub Hours for updated coverage.
