Monday Evening Novice MTB/CX Preview Ride
Join us at Catamount on the 7th for a special Labor Day Cyclocross (CX) Novice Monday guided ride and course preview before our 6 week CX series kicks off on 9/9/26!

Join Coach Justin as he takes you to the south side of our network and exposes you to our 2026 Cyclocross course from 6:00pm to ~7:30pm at a mellow, novice pace.

*Please note, this is a group ride and NOT a clinic or lesson. While tips may be shared, those seeking skill instruction and sessioning of features should check out other clinics, including the GMCX clinic on 10/10/26!

What is Cyclocross?

For those new to the sport you may be asking ‘What is Cyclocross?’ Although cyclocross shares some aspects of both mountain biking and road racing, it is it’s own sport and you can expect some of the following features including; being on & off the bike, stepping over natural & artificial barriers, quick entry & exiting of corners, hard surfaces transitioning to soft, and negotiating tricky off-camber sections. Don’t let this intimidate you though. Cyclocross if fun!

The length of the course is 2-3 km and takes approximately 6-10 minutes per lap. While many race on a dedicated cyclocross bike, a gravel bike or hard-tail mountain bike are perfectly fine to participate with (a full suspension bike could be used, but will be more difficult to carry over barrier and run-ups).
