The Operations & Events Coordinator will be responsible for three key aspects of the organization: 1) Race Director (May-October); 2) Event Coordination (year-round); 3) Administrative work to support program marketing and general operations (year-round). This position allows for creativity in a supportive environment with a great team of people. Our programs are expanding year round and need dedicated guidance to continue to strengthen them within the community and to develop additional programs and events to meet the expanding needs of Catamount.


1)Race Director: (May-October)

  • Manage the Weekly Race Series for Trail Running, Mountain Biking & Cyclocross
  • Train and oversee additional race staff in timing, registration, etc.
  • Post Results
  • Work with Executive Director to organize end of season celebration
  • Work with Executive Director to secure race series sponsorships

2)Event Coordinator: (Year-Round)

  • Point of Contact for all events
  • Schedule event calendar year round
  • Provide support structure to communicate event requirements
  • Execution of the Snow School Program for grades K-12
  • Support Summer Camps

3)Operations Administration: (Year-Round)

  • Program & Events Marketing
  • Newsletter & Media Development
  • Manage Membership Platform
  • Accounts Payable
  • Support our Guest Services and Rental Hub
  • Communication through both phone and emails


  • At least two years of experience in the Outdoor Recreation industry
  • Reliable transportation & a valid drivers license
  • Willingness & Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events

Desired Skills & Abilities:

  • Previous experience in event management and/or execution
  • Experience working with youth programs
  • Knowledge of computer systems and media platforms
  • Flexibility in seasonal scheduling fluctuations
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects
  • Team Player with strong communication skills
