At the highest point of the walk you will be treated to a panoramic view of the Champlain Valley.\n11am: join Penny Gibson (COFC Board Member) on a casual hike exploring the Northside of Catmount’s trail network!\n12pm: join Andy\, COFC Trail Manager\, to learn about trail maintenance on the CCF\n1-3pm: join Ethan Tapper\, Chittenden County Forester\, to learn about the Forest Management Plan on the Catamount Community Forest\n\nJoin a group bike ride: \n\n10:30am: join the Richard Tom Foundation  for a mellow group bike ride on beginner/ intermediate single track terrain out to the NW side of Catamount trail network!\n11:30am: join Hans Buehler (COFC Board Member) on a moderate clockwise perimeter bike loop on the North side single and double track trails.  This ride will start on the flat trails to warm up and then possibly climb to the Lookout on intermediate trails!\n12:30pm: join Alan Cote (COFC Board Member) on this group ride to explore various single track trails on the North side of Catamount!\n1:30pm: join Brad Johnson (COFC Board Member) on a cruise to Catamount’s Southside to explore Goose Hill’s beautiful fields\, vistas\, and more!\n2:30pm: join Joe\, VMBA‘s Event Coordinator\, on a no drop ride to highlight the great trails at the Catamount Family center. We will align on a route based on the riders that sign up on-site.\n\n  \nVisit Booths throughout the day: Vermont Mountain Bike Association\, Richard Tom Foundation\, Trust for Public Lands\, Lake Champlain Basin Program\, Vermont Land Trust\, Catamount Community Forest Committee\, and more! \nDiscover the local furbearers that live in our forest; check out the display about ticks; learn about Leave No Trace ethics; and enjoy a Story Walk through the forest! \nSuggested donation of $5 per person please.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Vermont Community Garden Network’s first ever Snowshoe Winter Walk! The walk will take place on February 13th from 1-3pm at Catamount Outdoor Family Center and will consist of a family-friendly 2-2.5k loop\, at the end of which prizes for most funds raised\, silliest hat\, and best team name will be given out! Hot chocolate and s’mores will be available for all participants! Registration for the event is free and participants are encouraged to fundraise using the peer-to-peer platform.

DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Richard Tom Foundation\, we are thrilled to offer a Fat Bike Rally (weather & snow condition dependent). This is a great opportunity to explore the groomed fat bike trails throughout the Catamount Community Forest! Limited fat bike demos will be available for 50 minute rentals on a first come\, first served basis. Burgers & Brats will be provided by the Richard Tom Foundation! Participate in the Fat Bike Dual Slalom ($5 entry-must have your own bike)…spectator friendly event. Check out our Snow Dog trail groomer. This is a free event\, but donations are greatly appreciated to help support our groomed fat bike network. \nGroup rides will be offered\, and Catamount has a limited number of rental bikes available. Priority will be given to those participating in a group ride\, and will be limited to 50 minutes per ride. No advanced reservations are available for bikes! Although the bikes are available for free demos\, a credit card is required to be held on file for all bike rentals.\nFor riders with their own bikes\, enter the Dual Slalom ($5)\, and test your skills on our dual slalom course. Starting at 1pm\, there will be heats for all ages! And\, at 2pm\, find a friend with skis\, and sign up for the race on Electric Ave where the skier and biker will race on side by side courses to see who is fastest!\n\nSchedule for the day:\n\n10am: Pride Rides will be hosting a group fat bike ride starting at 10am. Meet in the parking lot by the big pink and black SDR tent and Pride Rides banner. Pride Rides is an LGBTQIA+ bicycle organization and the group rides are open to LGBTQIA people and their allies! A limited number of fat bikes will be available for folks who don’t have a fat bike for the event. Send an email to prideridesvt@gmail.com with your bike size or height to reserve a bike for the ride. We’ll ride for about an hour; the pace of the rides are social and friendly to beginner level riders. Post ride we’ll have some treats(bike snacks\, could be cookies\, could be donuts\, maybe both\, will be coffee!) in the parking lot and then join in on the rest of the fat bike rally fun!\n11am: Group Ride\n12pm: Group Ride\n1pm: Dual Slalom Competition\n2pm: Ski/Bike send off race
