DESCRIPTION:Registration below!Catamount OFC’s Cycling Club – 2025 Season\nFor Riders Ages 8-14\nCatamount’s Cycling Club is designed for young riders with a passion for the outdoors and their sport! The club extends the fun of our summer camp programs into the spring\, summer\, and fall\, providing opportunities for kids to experience different types of riding\, improve their skills\, and build confidence in a supportive and fun environment. \nJoin us every Monday and Wednesday from May to October for 90 minutes of biking bliss and exploration. Team camaraderie and collective excitement help push personal limits\, encourage others\, and foster growth as both athletes and individuals. \nSchedule: \nMonday & Wednesday: 4:30pm – 6:00pm \nSeason: May 19th – October 13th\, 2025 \nRain or Shine: On inclement weather days\, sessions will move indoors to focus on bike maintenance skills\, mobility exercises\, and other bike or nature related games.\nWe operate with a 1:8 staff-to-member ratio to ensure quality instruction and safety.\n\nTwo Enrollment Options\nFull Season (May – October): $1000 (5 months) \nMonthly Enrollment: \n\nJune\, July\, August\, & September: $220 per month\nMay & October (half months): $115 per month\n\n10% off for Catamount Members \n\nPrerequisite Skills for Participation\nTo ensure a positive experience and safety\, participants must have the following skills: \n\n\nAbility to ride a bike on flat\, varied terrain (grass\, dirt\, gravel\, small roots\, and rocks) confidently and without training wheels. \n\n\nAbility to turn in both directions on the above terrain. \n\n\nAbility to maintain a finger on the brakes while riding and stop safely when directed. \n\n\nIf your child is still working on these skills\, we’re happy to help! Check out our Spring MTB Clinic options before registering for the club or consider scheduling a private lesson. \nNote: No refunds will be issued for participants sent home due to missing prerequisite skills. \n\nBike Requirements\nAll bikes used in Catamount OFC must meet the following criteria: \n\n\nMultiple gears (no single-speed or single-gear bikes). \n\n\nHand brakes (rim or disc brakes) that can be operated with one finger (no foot/pedal brakes). \n\n\nPedals (no striders or kick bikes). \n\n\nNote: Bikes with foot brakes\, training wheels\, single-speed/one-gear\, or without pedals are not appropriate for club use. \nNote: No refunds will be issued for participants sent home due to improper bike specifications. \n\nCancellation Policy\n\n\nBefore May 1: Cancellations or change requests will receive a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. \n\n\nFrom May 1 to two weeks before the start of the month your child is registered for: 50% refund. \n\n\nWithin two weeks of the start of the month your child is registered for: No refund.

DESCRIPTION:Thursday Evening MTB Social Ride – Intermediate & AboveJoin us at Catamount every Thursday evening this summer for our volunteer-led guided Social Rides! \nStarting on May 15th and running each Thursday (weather dependent) until ~mid-October\, ride through the Catamount Community Forest from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with Catamount OFC community. These rides\, designed for more experienced riders\, are a great way to meet other enthusiast in the community and explore Catamount’s trail network. \nThe Thursday series increases in difficulty each week and then resets at the start of the following month. For these rides\, we will use double-track as well as green\, blue\, and some black single-track trails\, which are more technical and ideal for those who are comfortable on their bikes and a variety of terrain. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 2-hour Intermediate MTB Clinic and take your bike skills to the next level! \nIn this clinic\, we’ll build upon your beginner skills while exploring intermediate trails and terrain\, including roots\, rocks\, dirt\, and wood features. We’ll also play bike games as we practice drills and refine key skills. Focus areas include braking\, body positioning\, and skill blending (braking\, riding\, shifting\, and pedaling). Fun challenges await\, from climbing and descending singletrack trails to tackling rock walls and the Gully Whumper! \nPrerequisites: \n\n\nCompletion of a beginner skills clinic at Catamount within the last 3 years\, or \n\n\nDemonstration of all of the following skills: \n\n\n-Eyes forward\, scanning ahead while riding \n-Covering brakes with one finger while riding \n-Use of both brakes to slow down and stop \n-“Neutral” and “Ready” riding positions \n-Pedaling on flat and varied terrain \n-Stand-up riding on flat and varied terrain with even pedals \n-Turning in both directions \nIf you have any questions about your skill level for this clinic\, please contact us at programs@catamountoutdoor.org. \nPlease bring your bike\, helmet\, water\, snack\, and any other gear you need to feel comfortable. The club extends the fun of our summer camp programs into the spring\, summer\, and fall\, providing opportunities for kids to experience different types of riding\, improve their skills\, and build confidence in a supportive and fun environment. \nJoin us every Monday and Wednesday from May to October for 90 minutes of biking bliss and exploration. Team camaraderie and collective excitement help push personal limits\, encourage others\, and foster growth as both athletes and individuals. \nSchedule: \nMonday & Wednesday: 4:30pm – 6:00pm \nSeason: May 19th – October 13th\, 2025 \nRain or Shine: On inclement weather days\, sessions will move indoors to focus on bike maintenance skills\, mobility exercises\, and other bike or nature related games.\nWe operate with a 1:8 staff-to-member ratio to ensure quality instruction and safety.\n\nTwo Enrollment Options\nFull Season (May – October): $1000 (5 months) \nMonthly Enrollment: \n\nJune\, July\, August\, & September: $220 per month\nMay & October (half months): $115 per month\n\n10% off for Catamount Members \n\nPrerequisite Skills for Participation\nTo ensure a positive experience and safety\, participants must have the following skills: \n\n\nAbility to ride a bike on flat\, varied terrain (grass\, dirt\, gravel\, small roots\, and rocks) confidently and without training wheels. \n\n\nAbility to turn in both directions on the above terrain. \n\n\nAbility to maintain a finger on the brakes while riding and stop safely when directed. \n\n\nIf your child is still working on these skills\, we’re happy to help! Check out our Spring MTB Clinic options before registering for the club or consider scheduling a private lesson. \nNote: No refunds will be issued for participants sent home due to missing prerequisite skills. \n\nBike Requirements\nAll bikes used in Catamount OFC must meet the following criteria: \n\n\nMultiple gears (no single-speed or single-gear bikes). \n\n\nHand brakes (rim or disc brakes) that can be operated with one finger (no foot/pedal brakes). \n\n\nPedals (no striders or kick bikes). \n\n\nNote: Bikes with foot brakes\, training wheels\, single-speed/one-gear\, or without pedals are not appropriate for club use. \nNote: No refunds will be issued for participants sent home due to improper bike specifications. \n\nCancellation Policy\n\n\nBefore May 1: Cancellations or change requests will receive a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. \n\n\nFrom May 1 to two weeks before the start of the month your child is registered for: 50% refund. \n\n\nWithin two weeks of the start of the month your child is registered for: No refund.
