DESCRIPTION:Join us at Catamount for the SECOND annual RUTFest (Richmond Ultra Trail Festival)! \nThis is a weekend devoted to running and hiking local trails with our community. This 36-hour “race” includes two different 3-4 mile trail loops at Catamount\, with gorgeous views of Camel’s Hump and Mansfield. These two loops are run on repeat\, whenever you want. This is the weekend to run (or walk) further than you ever have before. \nEntry fee this year is a $20 donation to Sky’s the Limit Fund\, Camp Exclamation Point\, the RTRC\, or Catamount Outdoor Center. \nRegistered participants will receive event updates and info by email. All participants will be asked to sign up for a 1-hour volunteer shift at the aid station as well as donate a snack to the aid station. Register here: https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=97439 \nRunners check in at the main aid station to run laps whenever they would like during the event. The loops alternate on the N and S side of Catamount\, about 3 and 4 miles respectively. \nKickoff @ 6AM Saturday Nov. 5. Check-in available all morning. Closing @ 6PM Sunday Nov. 6. \nQUESTIONS? DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Richard Tom Foundation\, we are thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Fat Bike Rally!\nBack in 2020\, The RTF provided matching funds to individual donors to help raise the money needed to purchase the SnowDog groomer that Catamount uses on our fat bike network! COFC and RTF have rallied each year since then to offer this space for folks to come together and enjoy this winter sport. Join us in exploring the fat bike trails throughout the Catamount Community Forest for free on February 5th\, 2023. Grab your fat bike\, or one of the free demo bikes provided at the event\, and join in on the fun as we celebrate winter biking together! \nThis years event has a limited number of fat bike demos available and each will be available for 50 minutes per ride. Although the demos are complementary\, a credit card is required to be held on file for some bike rentals. Priority will be given to those participating in a group ride. There will be two guided group rides throughout the day. \nDon’t miss the Sprint Race at 1:30pm. Bring your bike and go head to head with another fat biker. Or perhaps\, a skier! Not interested in racing? DESCRIPTION:A casual morning of birding for all interests and experience levels facilitated by NBNC staff and guest leaders. These outings are about enjoying\, learning about\, and spending time with wild birds. No binoculars? No ID guide? No problem! The only requirement is an appreciation of birds (though we do have binoculars for those who would like them). \n\nDistance: This outing covers between 0.5 and 1 mile.\nTerrain and surface: The trails are dirt carriage roads and >6’-wide grass paths over compacted dirt. Trails have no to minimal cross-grade. The outing will involve up to 100′ of gradual vertical elevation change. There are no benches along the route. DESCRIPTION:Are you getting stoked for bike season but you’re not quite sure how to get your bike ready to roll on your own?\nAre you feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information floating around and just want someone to show you in person?\nAre you looking to build your bike care knowledge and become more independent in your maintenance skills? \nJoin us at Catamount for the “Spring Cleanup” Intro to MTB Maintenance Clinic where you will learn important skills like:\n-How to pick out the proper tools & supplies\n-Where and when to lubricate\n-How to clean your bike\n-Troubleshoot & safety checks: ID problem areas and know when more work is needed\n-How to change your tire or fix a flat \nSee you there and don’t forget your bike! \n*Please note that this event will be held outside so please prepare accordingly. Should there be inclement weather day of\, there will be an indoor space that can be used for the clinic. \nLimit 20 participants (anyone under 18 will need a parent or guardian present). \nCost $20 ($15 for members)
