SUMMARY:VTYC Spring Scrimmage & Coaches Clinic
DESCRIPTION:VYTC is excited to kick off the riding season with a scrimmage at the Catamount Outdoor Family Center! This is an opportunity for youth riders to try racing in a fun\, supportive\, and low-stakes environment. This is also your chance to test your fitness and skills heading into summer! Coaches–stick around for a coaches clinic from 12-2. \nVOLUNTEER SIGN UP! We need help with parking\, registration\, staging\, course sweeping\, and group ride leading! \nAll riders will choose a race category on the morning of the race:  \n5th & 6th grade race – race length will be approximately 3-4 miles – 1 lap \nCat C – novice riders – primarily 7th & 8th graders\, but open to high schoolers; stronger 5th & 6th graders may race up\, same race course as 5th & 6th grade\, approximately 3-4 miles – 1 lap \nCat B- intermediate riders – stronger middle school racers and less experienced high school students; approximately 6-8 miles – 2 laps \nCat A – advanced riders – more experienced high school students; approximately 9-12 miles – 3 laps \nPlease note: this race is hand-timed. There are no awards or podium!  \nVenue Considerations: Catamount Outdoor Family Center (COFC)\, a 501(c)3 non profit funded through membership\, is the official manager of the trails\, facilities\, programs\, camps and events in the Catamount Community Forest (CCF). The CCF committee and the Town of Williston are in charge of the overall property\, and manage the fields and forests. \n\n\nRestrooms: 2-3 portable toilets available \nTrash: Pack in pack out facility so please plan accordingly\nNo pets allowed\nParking: Use the main lot. If the lot is full\, park on the north side of the road. Parking on both sides of Governor Chittenden Road is NOT allowed as emergency vehicle access must be maintained.
